Singer 2259 Sewing MachineMy Singer 2259 review had more to do with clarifying the sewing machine’s listed features and details than it did with anything else. There are a few descriptions online that might be misleading without a bit of explanation.

This model falls in Singer’s “Very Basic” category making it a popular option for those just beginning to sew. While it might be basic, it does have its strong points so shouldn’t be overlooked by Singer fans.

It’s got a nice, clean look and sleek design, a nice set of stitches and, by now, a track record of almost two years proven performance.

I had put off writing a review of the Singer 9960 Quantum Stylist sewing machine only because it had so many stitches and features that I thought it might intimidate beginners. Then I noticed the price.

There are many sewing machines with fewer options than this one that cost the same (or more!). This presents a great opportunity for even the most novice sewer to invest in a machine that will truly serve them for years.

Singer 7256 Sewing Machine Review

Singer 7256The Singer 7256 Fashion Mate sewing machine was awarded the Consumer Digest Best Buy Award for good reason.

Beginners love the easy controls and feature set. The high marks from other users mean we might have finally found a Singer option that reminds us why this manufacturer was the standard for home machines for as long as it was.

Released in 2009, this model is an upgrade to the 7466 and if you look at the two side by side you’ll see that the design has been completely redone. It’s much more stylish with rounded corners and a fun, green splash across the bottom.

In typical fashion, I’ve crammed too much into this final week before Christmas which is why I love online shopping. I prefer my pajamas, a bathrobe and a cup of cinnamon coffee for shopping rather than the hustle and bustle of the mall. (Actually, it’s not the mall I mind. It’s the parking lot!)

Singer Simple 2263The Singer 2263 Simple sewing machine reminds me that nothing with a front-loading bobbin should ever be allowed to use the word “simple” in its name.

If you read the post I wrote about my run in with my mom’s old Viking machine, you’ll know that front-loading bobbins and I are not friends. They’re not impossible to use, they’re just not easy.

In fact, most people really like this machine except for one, repetitive issue – problems with the bobbin thread. Somehow, I’m not surprised.
